Topic 2: Retroperitoneal Sarcoma

 

The ANZSA Sarcoma Working Party has identified retroperitoneal sarcoma as a topic to be addressed. This series of guidelines focuses on the role of biopsy of retroperitoneal sarcomas and treatment with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and multivisceral resection.

The guideline questions are as follows:

  1. What is the role of preoperative biopsy in retroperitoneal sarcoma?
  2. Does multi-visceral resection improve outcomes for patients with primary retroperitoneal sarcoma outcomes?
  3. What is the role of radiation therapy in the management of primary retroperitoneal sarcomas?
  4. What is the role of chemotherapy in primary retroperitoneal sarcoma?
