Sarcoma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
In the spirit of reconciliation the Australian and New Zealand Sarcoma Association acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Cancer Australia has released a new website Our Mob and Cancer, which aims to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders through their cancer journey. While sarcoma does not feature on the website specifically, this website will provide information more generally in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific needs in navigating the complex medical issues involved in cancer care.
Designed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the website provides information about cancer, including cancer types, prevention, diagnosis, treatment living with cancer, finding support, clinical trials and more. You can find out more information here.
