We are delighted to have two esteemed international sarcoma specialists speaking at the virtual ASM this year.
Dr Kristy Weber is the Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology at Penn Medicine and the Director of the Sarcoma Program at the Abramson Cancer Center. She currently serves as President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and is the Academy’s first woman president.
She specialises in the treatment of children and adults with benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumours as well as metastatic bone disease. Limb salvage surgery around the shoulder, hip, knee and pelvis is a particular interest. Dr Weber has built a collaborative sarcoma research team combining clinical and basic research between Penn Medicine and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr Angelo Paolo Dei Tos is the Professor of Pathology, University of Padua School of Medicine and Director, Department of Pathology, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria di Padova, Italy.
He has published more than 160 peer-reviewed articles, mainly focused on soft-tissue and tumour pathology/biology and oncological pathology. His main clinical interest is focused on sarcoma morphologic and molecular diagnosis.
Dr Dei Tos is past Chairman and founder of the Working Group on Soft Tissue Tumour Pathology of the European Society of Pathology (ESP), past President of the International Society of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology (ISBSTP), panel member for the WHO Working Group for the Classification of Tumours of Soft Tissue and Bone, member of the Board of Directors, and Treasurer of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), Chairman of the Pathology Subcommittee of the Soft Tissue and Bone Group of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and a faculty member of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO).
